Anonymous: I had sex for the first time on a Monday morning. He wore a condom, and it never broke. 5 days after that my stomach, started hurting out of nowhere. Waking up, eating, and laying down hurt my stomach. Now its been 2 weeks. Is their a possibility, I might be pregnant? I waited sometime, so that I can take a pregnancy test later today, and it be pretty accurate.

    Hi anon,

Condoms offer great protection against pregnancy and the spread of STDs. They are 98-percent effective with perfect use at preventing pregnancy and are highly effective at preventing the transmission of STDs.

If the condom didn’t break and was used properly the chance of pregnancy from the situation you described is pretty low, about 2 percent. But anytime anyone has penile-vaginal sex, even with a condom, there is still a chance that a pregnancy can occur.

The most accurate time to take a pregnancy test is the day before your next period is due or if your period is late. You can either take one at home or in a local clinic. You can find free or low-cost and confidential clinics near you here.

    I hope this helps!
