Anonymous: I had sex for the first time one day last week, and that day i had to go to hospital due to heavy bleeding. They did a pregnancy test there, it came out negative. could the pregnancy test have been wrong as i had sex THAT DAY and it takes a while to show up?
Hi anon,
It can up to two weeks after having penile-vaginal sex for a fertilized egg to implant in the lining of the uterus. This is when pregnancy technically begins.
Since you would not have been pregnant from that instance of intercourse because it had just happened, the test was not wrong, it just wasn’t taken at the right time.
The most accurate time to take a pregnancy test is the day before a person’s period is due or if their period is late.
I hope this helps.
